Why You Must Make
If you love cookie dough as much as cookies, you’ll go crazy for this dessert dip!
- There are no raw eggs like in standard cookie dough, so it’s safe to eat.
- The raw flour can be cooked so it is safe to eat, too. It can contain e-coli bacteria which can bring on very unpleasant symptoms.
- PRO-Tip: Spread your flour on a baking sheet and place in a preheated 350º oven for 5 minutes. The flour should reach 160º which is hot enough to kill the bacteria.
- It’s absolutely irresistible and tastes a heck of a lot like chocolate chip cookie dough!

Expert Tips
This is one of the easiest desserts you’ll ever make! It’s just as appropriate for a girls’ night out as it is for game day (you need to balance out all those salty chips and dips!). A group of our neighbors spent the weekend at a historic hotel south of Indianapolis, and I brought along this chocolate chip cookie dough dip for our midnight snack. My friends went nuts for it!
Here are a couple of hints for making this dessert dip.
- PRO-Tip: Make sure your cream cheese and butter are at room temperature. It will be much easier to mix if they’re not fresh from the refrigerator.
- I like to buy whole Heath Bars and chop them myself. If you’d prefer, you can buy bagged toffee bits.
- You can serve it with any cookie to use as a dipper. Graham crackers, vanilla wafers, chocolate wafers, and even homemade cookies will work.
- I also like to offer sturdy fruit slices like apples or pears for a slightly healthier option. And if you’re a sweet and salty fan, try pretzel knots or snaps!

Oh, I so badly want to make this for Hubby. I made him get off the raw cookie dough thing when we got married because he has enough stomach issues already. This will enable him to have his cake and eat it too (per se). Thank you for improvising your Lenten season and coming up with this!
Oh my! This dip looks amazing, Lizzy! I think I could just eat it with a spoon!
Drooolll! This sounds amazing! I’ve been wanting to try a similar recipe since January (I’m a little behind)! But I love the heathbar addition, I need to get on making this stat!
I honestly haven’t tried cookie dough dip! Poor me…can’t believe what I’ve been missing!
It looks like you had a great time with your girlfriends–and I love how this dip looks like an old-fashioned cheese ball! I’m sure it is very tasty…could be a good dish for an Oscars party this weekend.
O-M-G!! I’m not one for raw cookie dough personally, so I’m glad you got ride of the eggs. Now I need to come up with a reason to make this where I won’t be the only one eating it! =)
holy cow, this looks AMAZING!!
I adore cookie dough dip, but have not tried it with heath toffee, yum!
I have been planning to make this dip for a long time – your delicious mouthwatering pictures are just egging me on 😀
Yum!

Good for you to find a cookie dough substitute!! I would definitely dig into this dip–although I must admit I have never eaten raw cookie dough. Are you gasping, Lizzy? Well, since I never really baked cookies there wasn’t much cookie dough around. LOL! I have not decided what I am going to give up yet for Lent… maybe what I need to give up is “laziness” and start exercising again. That would be a win-win. 🙂
Yum! This is one amazing cookie dough dip recipe, Lizzy! Have a great day!
OMG what a killer and dangerous recipe. Who does not love eat cookie dough. The presentation is gorgeous too.
I have never made a dip like this…totally intrigued!
Cool ladies..
Cookie dough dip! Wow! What a wonderful idea and your presentation of it is just beautiful. Great item to serve at any gathering in my books.
That cookie dough is one of the most unique and tempting things I’ve seen since I started to blog. It looks so delicious, like ice-cream and lovely presentation as always. You’re not only a versatile cook and baker, you’re extremely creative with your presentation as well.
Oh YUMM! And the biscoff cookies are so, so enticing on top of that 🙂 Great, enticing recipe.
I saw this recipe! It looks so fantastic and I love that it is egg-free.
Wow, I can see why this dip was a hit! I have never been big into eating cookie dough, but know a few people in my family that go nuts over it. In fact I freeze cookie dough in balls so Mr. Hubby can eat it straight out of the freezer. 🙂 I’ll save this one for our next gathering. Yum!
Love the photo of you and your friends! I’ve never had a sweet dip so I’m having trouble picturing whether or not I’d like it. But I wouldn’t insult you by not trying it at your party 🙂
PS regarding the Google change, as far as I can see they still have not made a decision on if they will roll over friends if you are set up with blogger, so I am playing the waiting game. Hopefully they will.
